Serve and Protect: Policing in Northern Québec
Policing in Northern Québec is unlike policing anywhere else in the province. The Inuit people of this vast and rugged land possess rich traditions and a distinct culture.
Since 1996, the KRPF has promoted an evolving relationship with the residents of the 14 northern villages of Nunavik. Today, this relationship continues to flourish.
The KRPF believes that healthy, prosperous and safe communities are achieved in cooperation with residents and local leaders, and through strong community strategies to prevent crime.
Through consultation and consistent and competent policing services, the region's collaborative efforts are helping to ensure that community needs are met.
Strong teamwork is essential. Together, let's continue to build bridges that help serve and protect our communities and our families.
